I stayed with this lovely family in Forte Dei Marmi one summer during Ferragosto, before I started my studies in Florence. This image is of the father and two daughters, the father owned movie theaters and was a kind generous person. Most evenings he would take us on a walk into the center of Forte Dei Marmi for gelato, this was taken on one of those walks... The mother of the family was a school teacher in Lucca I totally adored her and both the girls...

I am of the opinion that Forte Dei Marmi is kind of a magical place. In the late 80's it was like the Italian Riviera, at night there were clubs and casinos with black tie. In the day you might hear stories about Salvador Dali's behavior from Spanish Royalty selling lounging near you on the beach...
