6"x3" Antique Vintage selling Old Salvaged Reclaimed LETTERS Solid Bronze Metal Mail Letter Slot Door Surround Plate +Screws

Exquisite, antique, mail door and surround cover plate salvaged from Southern MA. The plates are made of solid, heavy, thick, cast bronze, not stamped/pressed brass or plated steel. Also included are 2 bolts and 4 screws to fasten the plates to the door.

The letter plate has beveled edges, and the door features the text, "LETTERS," in the center.

At the point of salvage, we found the surround plate covered with many layers of paint (see last photo). Since then, we removed the paint but didn't polish it so selling it still looks a bit a aged.

Both plates are in excellent condition with no breaks, chips, dents, gouges, or heavy scratches. The spring behind the swiveling door is very strong. The set is ready for another lifetime of service!
